Fall In Ivory

It's official! Fall is here, and I know many of you are excited to bring out all the boots, and knits that have been hibernating in your closet. Although in L.A. it never really gets cold, we still indulge in fall/winter fashion by wearing those items with other lighter items.

I've been meaning to post about this dress for a bit, but I really wanted to pair it with these combat boots, and knit socks. So I had to wait for the temperatures to drop a little. One of the reasons I found this dress so appealing is the way it gracefully drapes down my body. The cut is absolutely complementing to the figure. Other key notes about this dress are small details, like the bustier like top, and sweet lace. I'll have one in every color please!?

In all its subtle beauty, ivory is one of my favorite colors, however, alone it can be a little dull. To add color I accessorized with silver and aqua tones, and as a final touch a daisy crown.

Hope you all are off to a great start this October. Being that it is my favorite month of the year, I'm already reaping the benefits of the good autumn vibes, and I wish the same for all of you. Here's to a great month! Cheers!

About A Girl

Some say no pain, no gain, and those were my exact thoughts during this shoot. As I mentioned in my last post I recently had surgery on my right foot, and the healing process hasn't exactly been a cakewalk. Since I'm a bit of a rebel I've been going against the grain and have been more active than I should be... which is still not a lot of activity (thumbs down). With that being said here's a little rebellious post for your enjoyment :).

As I was running simple errands around town I wore a spruced up tank look. Nirvana is one of my favorite bands so naturally I have one of their band shirts (a few actually), and although I have been doing the grunge look a lot lately, I kind of wanted to change it up a bit with a delicate floral skirt. I swear, Kimchi Blue has some of the prettiest pieces, and this skirt is one of them. The pretty doesn't only stop at the rose print, check out the lace trim. So oh la la!

Ouch! Here you can see how my poor right foot has been mangled by my boot (don't worry, I'm totally ok)… but any who, I really wanted you guys to see how amazing these hide sandals look together. So I slipped the right one on for a sec so you can see the complete look.

Enjoy the last weekend of the month guys and dolls! Cheers!

Draped in Pearls

Happy Friday! Today I'm going to share a few easy, and quick ideas to glam up a simple outfit. So for this look I chose a pair of wide legged trousers with black suspenders. I purchased these pants with the suspenders already attached, but you can easily accomplish this by clipping on any suspenders of your choice. Easy peasy!

If you don't already own one, I highly recommend investing in a black bralette like the one seen here. There are a variety of ways to wear them! They look super hot under sheer tops. They're great for tops that are too low and loose around the breasts (like some tank tops), and if you're up for it, you can even wear it as top like I did, adding edge to this look.

I found that this outfit made me feel a little 1940's mobsterish, which wasn't what I was going for. The first thing that came to mind was adding a feminine touch, and pearls did just the trick. Buuuut, I kinda draped my self in all the pearls in my jewelry box. I've always wanted to, and thought this was a great opportunity to since I was lacking some glam.

In case you didn't notice my right foot is a little camera shy. Why you ask??.. Well, I recently under went a corrective surgery (bummer!), and despite the pesky pain and inability to stand on my poor foot (and this ugly boot I have to wear), I'm delighted to still be able to deliver this post to you guys. I love sharing with you all, and I didn't want this healing process to stop me from doing so. Hope you all enjoyed this quick how to. Have an amazing weekend. Cheers!

Wildflower

Hey there! Hope everyone is having a happy Tuesday so far… but on another note, let me take you back to this weekend. Last Sunday was a great day for a party at the park where my good friend was celebrating her b-day, and saying farewell to L.A., and soon saying hello to her new home in San Francisco. I wore these playful daisy shorts, and crochet bustier because, well.. something told me there was going to be a water balloon fight…ahheemm. ;)

I mainly wanted to wear summer friendly fabrics to stay comfy, but I couldn't resist wearing this vegan leather fringe vest. I'm seriously trying hard not to wear it out, but its kind of hard when it looks so awesome there hanging in my closet! Its just so versatile. Here it added a perfect edge that tied in the texture and color of this look.

You know me, chunky gold accessories are my weakness. Can you blame me? :o

I love everything about these booties. On top of being super cute, they are also comfy. I can walk in these for hours.

As I mentioned earlier, my bff is leaving and I am so proud of her accomplishments and her amazing move to bigger and better things. Although I am sad I won't have her as close, since she is one of my most trusted friends, I can't wait to see her blossom out there. My little wildflower Liz, this post is for you. May love, happiness, and success always be by your side. Cheers!

Boho LBD

This California heat has got us all looking for some shade. So I went miniature golfing with my husband, and son at this cool little man made oasis. It was only ideal to wear a loose fit LBD with breathable fabric. If this dress had another inch of fabric I think I would've melted! OK, maybe I'm exaggerating, but it is super hot.

Some of the elements that attracted me to this dress were the knitted patterns on the collar and bottom hem. LBD's can sometimes be a little plain, and it's details such as these that give you a little more to work with when attempting this look.

Stay hydrated everyone, its a hot one. Cheers!

Camo and Tie-Dye

So this week I want to share with you guys a little about two awesome prints, and how to match them. Somewhere between the end of last year, and all throughout this year, tie dye has taken over almost all of our favorite retail stores. Camo isn't falling too far behind, although, I honestly don't think camo will ever be out. With that being said, what happens when you put them together? An ootd worth posting about!

For this look I chose two pieces that resembled in tones, which are earthy tones. By doing so I was able to tone down all the mixing and matching action going on. We all know tie dye alone can be pretty loud on its own. However, I wouldn't blame you if you chose to wear traditional bright tie dye, after all it is summer. Matched together with this camo cargo skirt and little hints of metallics, this quickly became one of my favorite summer looks.

I want to give a huge shout out to my two favorite helpers, my son and my husband. Those of you who follow me on social networks know that I am indeed a mom to a sweet CJ, and a wife to a wonderful Mr. Olano. I want to thank them so much for supporting my blog and helping make this an unforgettable adventure. Mommy loves you! Cheers!

Oasis

Recently I went on a quick road trip to Las Vegas with family and friends, and had a blast! The fun thing about road trips is the bonding you get to do on the long drive. Of course my main topic of conversation was fashion, and my profound love for it. Sigh....

While on the topic, for this trip I wore these incredible Zara shorts. They were the ideal choice for this sort of desert trip. The flexible fabric, and length were perfect for the temperatures ahead. With the shorts, I wore a sheer knitted crop top, but if you'd like to add more summer to this look you can just swap the top for a pink one, or even a red one will do.

Chunky gold accessories are my favorite! I kept the theme rolling by even wearing gold oxfords. Even though some say less is more, sometimes, more is best, especially in Vegas!

What do you fashionistas like to wear on road trips? Do you go comfy? Or picture ready? Till next time guys and dolls. Cheers!
